Friday 31st May Home To FordWon 12 - 2A much welcomed result & much needed bit of sun saw the registered 12 coming together & producing some good bowling as a team, with plenty of support from the side of the green Captain Tony Poole saw his team producing the level of bowling which will put then in a challenging position at the top of this league. In the first four Dave Wycherley, Tony Fardo & Gary Walker all played well with good results but Phil Whatmough was more than disappointed with is form & admits that this game was is worse after not being able to get on the land.
In the middle young Callum Wraight found his touch taking him to 11/1 & Alby Allwood then found a bit of response but could not keep up to the level of Callum which let him win 21/6 & taking the sweep, Steve Rogers let Dave Patterson get to 17/10 down then found the weight & run out 21/17. Alan Rogers (min) could not produce his top form when he needed it, after a couple of rubs went the wrong way Alan luck was not in losing out 19 to Pete Williams & at eight saw youngster Andrew Marshall making a get fight back against the X castlefields player in Chris Kelly, which saw Andrew keeping is nerve & with plenty of help from the side saw him run out 21/18, Andrew was presented with his Castlefields fleece after this fine performance. Into the back four with Captain Tony Poole taking Glyn Roser on Tony,s mark along the top side of the green which let Tony run out winning 21/5, steady George Wainwright was not rushed into wining again 21/17 against Pete Hotchkiss & Mike Thomas met an old friend in Tony Kirkham & quickly took him to the cleaners winning 21/13, in at number twelve was Tony Parry who caused a few scares for the watching supporters but managed to pull back & win 21/18 against Steve Jackson, So a good result for the team which saw a lot of happy faces going off to the Telegraph for a well earned drink JACK UP...

Friday 17th May Home To PontesburyWon 9 - 5
Dave Wycherley once again drew the short straw being paired against Darol Edwards with the game neck & neck all the way Dave just lost out towards the end at 17/21, Charlie Chan played some good bowls winning 21/11 against D.Walton, young Callum Wraight playing on all the marks ran out 21/13 against Cliff Evans & with Gary Walker at four made it three one after four winning 21/14 against Andrew Jones. Into the middle four with Tony Fardo coming up against Emily Jones & after many measures Tony lost out 10/21, George Wainwright showed he as not lost the touch winning 21/14 against D.Welling, at 7 saw Alan Rogers (minor) playing a straight peg on Pooles mark on the top side of the green which he ran out & took the Sweep at 21/4 against the unlucky S.Williams & coming on at 8 was the young footballer Steve Rogers who played the great Man United supporter in Taz Potter, sadly Taz could not do a United & come back in the last minute finally losing to Steve 21/8. six two after eight. Moving into the last four was a disaster for the Fielders with Captain Tony Poole only managing 14, Pete Walker 17, Tapper Thomas 16 & Tony Parry at 12 got to 19 after a great fight out in the rain which Tony likes but could not quite pull it off. With no winners in the back Tont may go for a change round next week.. time will tell..
